Well this weekend I worked on the galley a little and the drawers and frame under the forward dinette, I didn't finish the galley but I did get a coat of oil in the dinette drawers, Sorry about not taking pics but I will get some soon, this process is dirty and you won't see much until its finished.

Today I finally put on the first coat of Formby Tung oil (after many many hours of sanding) on most of the trim I still have to do the galley and a few small pieces and the head drawers and cabinet. My wife has been busy with a quilt and pillows for the boat.

Today is the first day of September and I was down at the boat to finish removing the wood trim, I didn't remove it all as it was over 95 deg. and about 95% humidity and being below was like being an a wet oven. I removed most of the hard to get stuff. I am going to strip the grime and crud off then sand, I might have to bleach and stain to get a uniform color before varnishing. I am going with a satin finish for the interior.

We recieved the "keys" to our new to us 44 year old boat on August 16th 2013, a Coronado 25 hull #1521. This boats hull and deck are sound with only 2 spots that sound hollow "core rot" they are less than 4" in diameter. The interior is just a dirty mess that will require lots of elbow grease and cleaner. We have been scrubbing dowm the interior and have the liner as clean as it can get, the wood on the other hand has years of oil and cigar smoke build-up on and in it. I will have to strip off the years of neglect and refinish the wood from scratch. We "mostly my daughter" have cleaned the vinyl cushions, also dirty as heck. She scrubbed with 409 and a nylon bristle brush to get off the residue, now they are as clean as can be, they actually look good. My wife made curtains and pillows, right now she is sewing a blanket for the boat.

We are going down to the boat today to remove some of the trim pieces to start the wood refinishing project.
